Description:
The site is a 42-acre triangular shaped parcel of land purchased from the City of North Bonneville, located immediately to the east of the existing North Bonneville town site. The Columbia River is located about 500 feet to the south. The northern boundary is SR 14. The project site is unoccupied land used as a storage site for spoils material excavated during the construction of the second powerhouse at Bonneville Dam (1979-1981). The site is part of the Town Relocation Plan implemented by the Corps of Engineers as part of the construction of the Bonneville Dam’s second power house. As part of the town’s relocation, the project site was covered with approximately 10 feet of fill. The site occurs within the USGS Bonneville Dam, WA/OR Quadrangle at T2N, R7E, non-standard Sections 38 and 39, Willamette Meridian. There is no direct linkage of surface water drainage from the project site to the Columbia River. Vegetation on the site is primarily grasses and forbs with about one acre supporting small trees and shrubs.
Additional Information:
